The Other Wedding Photographs

Many of the pictures I publish are formal portraits.  Well when I say formal, I mean they are of a bride and groom standing in gorgeous surroundings, looking at each other or at the camera. Many of my pictures are this way because I offer a two hour package which covers a short ceremony and offers some pictures of the happy couple together. This is a perfect package for an eloping couple on a tight budget with a few or no guests, who want some pictures of their special day and some ‘mantlepiece’ images for their home and to share with those not there. I love this kind of work and it not only suits me, but those eloping to Skye for a minimal fuss wedding.

In my ‘former life’ in Hampshire the weddings I photographed were generally larger events, lasting all day. At these larger traditional weddings, there is more time for capturing tiny moments before and after the main events. I have put together a few of those candid type of shots, from both Hampshire and, more recently, from Skye, in the pictures that follow. These are the images that make couples smile when they look back at the day, and when they get to see all the things happening around them them, that maybe they missed. Making sure I see these moments a really important part of my job, and it is these images that make me smile when I edit. I hope you like them too!
