I have over 15 years of professional photography know-how, and I am a Craftsman with the Guild of Professional Photographers, so you that with me, you have a photographer who knows her stuff! I’ll also bring a sense of humour to your trip – when you can have four seasons in one day on Skye, the ability to laugh about the weather is a must!

Where to have vacation photography on the ISLE of SKYE

I live on the Isle of Skye and have done for several years. There are some great spots away from the crowds as well as the well known iconic scenes you are familiar with.

When you decide that I am the one to photograph your vacation memories, you will have the chance to tell me a bit about yourselves. Whether you are looking for a romantic location for a couple photoshoot, or somewhere for the kids to run and play for a fun family portraits, I will suggest locations that will be perfect for you. Big spaces for families, romantic backdrops for couples or we can find the perfect spots for those who are maybe not as mobile, but without compromising the scenery.

Your Isle of Skye photoshoot will be fun and special. Most importantly it will fit into your holiday itinerary and you will have special memories of your visit to the Isle of Skye.

Planning Family Photos on the Isle of Skye? The Quick Answers

You can choose a one-hour session in one beautiful location, or spend two hours with me and explore a few different places. The two-hour session can feel a little like a mini tour of Skye with family photographs along the way, and because I live here, I can help you find some wonderful spots you might otherwise have missed.

There are lots! Sligachan, the Quiraing and Old Man of Storr are understandably popular, but the best location isn’t necessarily the most famous one. It depends on your family, the ages of your children, the weather, the time of day and how much walking you fancy doing. I can help you choose somewhere that works for your family rather than simply heading for the busiest viewpoint.

Yes. If you book my two-hour family session, we can visit several locations and create a much bigger variety of photographs. I’ll help plan a sensible route so we spend our time exploring and taking photographs rather than driving backwards and forwards across Skye!

That’s absolutely fine, in fact, I’d rather they didn’t spend the whole session posing! Children can run, explore, climb, cuddle, investigate interesting stones and generally be themselves. I’ll guide you when I need to, but some of the loveliest family photographs happen when children have forgotten I’m taking photographs at all.

Welcome to Skye! The weather here can change incredibly quickly, so I keep an eye on the forecast and we’ll work with what the island gives us. Cloud, mist and dramatic skies can look beautiful in photographs, and a little rain doesn’t necessarily mean we need to stop. Bring layers, sensible shoes and a bit of flexibility and we’ll take it from there.

As soon as you know your travel dates is sensible, particularly if you’re visiting during the busy summer months. I photograph lots of families who are travelling to Skye, including visitors from the USA, so there’s no need to wait until you arrive. We can arrange everything beforehand and I’ll help you work out where your photoshoot fits best within your trip.
