Wedding couple with bride in orange dress beside a rowan tree on the Isle of Skye

Where in the world should you get married? Skye of course!

The Isle of Skye is a world wedding destination, so what do we have that makes it so special?

Scenery. Tons and tons and tons of beautiful scenery. Skye has mountains, the sea, castles, waterfalls, heather, bracken, moody skies colour and atmosphere. The Scottish Highlands have so much beauty, and The Isle of Skye has all of it and a island feel to boot. Almost everyone (let’s face it there are always one or two folk anywhere who aren’t so great, but I haven’t met any here yet) here is friendly and welcoming.

You can marry anywhere on the island. This makes it such a cool pace to elope to if you want a simple ceremony in the great outdoors. There is a wonderful feeling of space and intimacy at an elopement outdoors. You can choose your backdrop, and because everyone here understands that the weather may have a say in your day, we have some amazing indoor or outdoor but sheltered locations as back up. Pick an iconic location and get hitched there! The Fairy Pools, The Fairy Glen, The Quiraing, Sligachan, Elgol, Loch Coruisk, Talisker Bay are gorgeous and popular but you can pick any place that sings to you.

There is accommodation suitable for everyone, no matter what size your party or budget is. Cosy cottages, pods, luxury hotels, campsites, back packer hostels… it’s all here.

We have some amazing wedding professionals here. Florists who are creative, cake makers who astound me, celebrants who make your ceremony moving and personal, hair and make up artists who can make you look fabulous and stay that way in wind and rain, and restaurants that have a world wide reputation to celebrate afterwards.

So what are you waiting for? Oh, did I mention the castles? We have castles too, by the sea. Whole ones that have been in movies and wild ruined ones. Eilean Donan, Dunvegan, Dunscaith, Armadale and Knock castles… take a look.

Where isn the world should you get married? The Isle of Skye of course!
