Magical Honeymoon Shoot at Skye’s Fairy Glen
Kari and Brian had already legally married in Canada, but wanted a more personal ceremony, between themselves, on their trip to Scotland. Their magical honeymoon shoot at Skye’s Fairy Glen was the highlight of their visit.
They chose to share their own words with each other at the magical Fairy Glen and asked me to record the occasion for them. Normally I would advise anyone wishing to marry there in the summer months to get there really early but I laughed when Kari responded to that idea with “We are NOT morning people”. We chose later in the afternoon instead! The weather was as bright as her gorgeous bouquet from Loch Duich Plants and so the Fairy Glen was quite busy. We took pictures around the quieter places there until the crowds dispersed a little and we could make our way to the top, and the circles, without a huge audience. This turned out to be a stroke of genius as the low sun shining produced a sundial effect of the time they were saying their vows, with Kari and Brian forming the gnomon (yes, a gnomon – it’s the upright part of a sundial that casts a shadow when the sun falls on it!).
Here is how their visit to the Fairy Glen and their personal ceremony went:
