A Romantic Honeymoon Shoot on The Isle of Skye
Donna in Canada contacted me to say that her daughter, Maeghan, was marrying Jamie MacKinnon and she wanted to arrange a honeymoon shoot. She wanted photos for them at the traditional seat of the MacKinnon Clan when they visited The Isle of Skye on the honeymoon. This was her wedding present to them, a romantic honeymoon shoot on the Isle of Skye, at Castle Moil.
We only had one day to do the shoot, and it was the day after Maeghan had run 26.2 miles in the Loch Ness marathon. Despite being a little bit sore, Jamie and Maeghan donned their wedding outfits to climb to the castle for a photoshoot. They looked amazing, Jamie in his MacKinnon tartan kilt and Maeghan was happy to give her beautiful wedding dress one last outing in the mud and the rain.
Reaching Castle Moil required crossing some pretty boggy terrain, and the wet weather combined with a high tide had made is very hard for us to get near despite our wellies. The gorgeous Autumn colours and dramatic clouds more than made up for the fact that we didn’t quite get there. They managed it the following day when they waled up at low tide and managed to get right to the castle itself and sent me some pictures to prove that they had made it there in the end. We had great fun. Aching all over and being freezing cold did nothing to dampen Maeghan’s spirits and we took some great pictures.
And what did they have to say about their honeymoon shoot at Castle Moil? “Thank you so much, Penny!!! These are so beautiful. We absolutely loved being on Skye and this is such a fun way to remember it!!! Looking forward to showing these to our families 🙂 – Maeghan & Jamie”
