Elope to The Isle of Skye with Style (and wellies)
Josh and Jonathan thought they had everything squared away when the decided to elope to The Isle of Skye. Everything was planned and confirmed but sadly, sometimes all the best laid plans don’t work out.
Two doctors, they are busy men right now! Their dream elopement to Skye was planned in two parts. They planned to have their ceremony at their accommodation with their friends, and then a photo shoot the next day as they started their honeymoon.
It was all going well until the guys turned up to their accommodation the night before the wedding, and found it not clean and far from welcoming (unusually for Skye). At the last minute they decided to stay at the gorgeous Kinloch Lodge Hotel instead. The staff there were amazing and made them feel immediately at home. They contacted me to tell me what had happened at their original accommodation. I phoned their celebrant Alyson. We put our head together and decided that they needed a new plan, so set about finding a new location, nearer to Kinloch Lodge and reassuring them that everything would be fine.
We chose a secluded beach for the ceremony, sheltered from the strong winds, and away from any crowds. Although the skies were grey the ceremony Alyson had prepared was full of warmth and laughter. It turns out that Josh knew Alyson from her days as a paramedic! They didn’t realise until they were chatting and thought that they recognised each other.
The ‘new’ wedding went without a hitch. The beach turned out to be a perfect location and Josh and Jonathan looked brilliant in their tweed suits, hats and matching wellies. Take a look at how their elopement to The Isle of Skye Plan B turned out:
