The Perfect Isle of Skye Wedding

Bride and groom walk through the barrels of whisky and gin in a distillery at their unique Isle of Skye Wedding

Gin and whisky, a secluded island and lots of love. What more do you need?

This is the wedding that dreams are made of! A remote island, a distillery, close friends and family and lots of love and laughter!

Jennifer and Rowan are from Newfoundland and Ontario. The planned their epic Scottish wedding to be something completely unique and magical.

A wedding in a distillery? YES!

This epic day was held at the RAASAY distillery, on Isle of Raasay. You can only reach it via ferry, so it’s very exclusive! Jennifer and Rowan invited their nearest and dearest and they took over all of the accommodation at the distillery!

The lovely Lorna Clarke from the Humanist Society Scotland conducted ceremony, which had the perfect balance of laughs and love. While I photographed every important moment, the incredibly talented Rosie, Skye Wedding Sketcher, was there drawing the ceremony as it happened. This is a unique and unusual way to capture your wedding and Rosie is just lovely to have along!

After the ceremony, we took advantage of this wonderful venue and visited the different parts of the distillery for photographs. We even took portraits with the highland cows and all around the distillery – including a fun Landrover drive to the barrel stores!

After I had stolen this beautiful couple for their portraits, I returned them to their guests for dinner and drinks.

This wedding was a great example of the uniqueness that you can achieve when you choose to have your wedding in the Highlands of Scotland. It’s full of little gems like the distillery that are so welcoming and really give you a wedding day that no-one else can rival!
