A Great Start to 2022 with an Eilean Donan Castle Wedding

I first met Manon and Guillaume in 2019 when they started to plan their Eilean Donan Castle wedding. We walked on the beach with their wee dog Pom, and chatted about their pans for a fairytale wedding. From France but working in Glasgow, they love Scotland and especially the Highlands, and wanted to share this with their loved ones.

Like too many other couples Covid had other ideas about their plans. Their big day was postponed twice. Although weddings in one form or another have pretty much continued throughout the pandemic crisis here in Scotland, it was really important for them to have their friends and family with them. It must have felt a distant dream at times.

The weather gods were not looking favourably on their Eilean Donan Castle wedding. The wind was ferocious and the rain wasn’t about to be left out. Thankfully the latter stayed away at just the right times for us to make the most of the outside for photos and the wonderful castle interior makes a perfect back drop for pictures too. The fires were lit and the castle felt warm and welcoming for everyone.

The ceremony by Stephanie Kendrick was beautiful. Amusing and emotional in all the right amounts. Manon looked incredible with help from Bee Bonnie Beauty and Flowers by the Castle made a stunning bouquet. Her dress was beautiful and a full veil topped everything off to perfection. After the ceremony and some fizz everyone partied at Dornie Hall and enjoyed a stunning cake by Highland Cakes.

Here is the story of their day… married at long last with friends and family to share the day and a great start to 2022 for me.
