An Early Morning Elopement Shoot on Skye
It’s true what they say about an early bird catching the worm. Landscape photographers will tell you that the best times of day are sunrise and sunset, and a farmer friend of mine told me that the stillest part of the day is just after sunrise.
With these facts in mind, and a long day travelling ahead, Camille decided to surprise her new husband with a post elopement shoot at Elgol.. at 6.30am. More surprising is how she managed to travel without him noticing her wedding dress or his suit!
I collected them from Coruisk House, where they were staying, as quietly as I could without disturbing the other guests and we headed down to the beach and the rocks at Elgol so that we could get them back in time for breakfast and to check out. It rained., but that most certainly didn’t dampen spirits, and we had the whole harbour almost to ourselves, apart from a few fishing boats about to head out. The Cuillins looked amazing and moody with the early morning sun shining on them and the highland cows, although surprised, seemed very relaxed about being the centre of attention while they munched on their breakfast.
